Lucio Canestrari makes Verdicchio wines, among others, with his wife Fiorella and his son Valerio. Lucio is a kind and matter-of-fact person, who has farmed his vineyards with minimal intervention since 1993. He doesn't allow any machinery in the vineyards, uses solely wild yeasts in the winery, zero additives, and only a tiny amount of SO2 at bottling.
'Il Coroncino' is made from a selection of grapes from the Coroncino and the Cerrete vineyards and is bottled from the free-run juice. The soil at these sites is primarily clay. Il Coroncino is an authentic, agile and elegant Verdicchio that simply blossoms in the glass and on the palate.
