Tasting Notes:
Pinot Grigio (and the French version, Pinot Gris) suffer from a love hate relationship with not only the everyday consumer but wine critics and industry folk alike. The variety can be bland and lacking interest, depth and character.
Fortunately there are a few that buck this trend and offer flavour, interest and complexity....like this one....
Delicate and dry, yet flavoursome and complex. The Grigio version should be lighter than the Gris and this is true to style. It has sweet nashi pear, baked apple, spice, with some mid-palate weight and slippery texture, finishing fresh and bone-dry. A few years in the cellar will see this wine develop extra richness and depth, but it is great now during the warm months with white meats and spicy Asian dishes.
This wine is available to taste on our tasting bench.
