M Chapoutier
Cotes du Rhone Belleruche
Grenache Syrah
2007
Cotes du Rhone
France
Alcohol % : 14.5
Volume : 750 ml
Halliday Rating : -
Tasting Notes:
Deep garnet colour with clear edges. It smells aromatic and fruity, like a bowl of fresh summer berries, violets, subtle vanilla bean, woodspice/nutmeg and lots of pepper.
Medium bodied palate and surprisingly complex for an affordable Cote du Rhone. It tastes with sweet red berries, spice, a little, barely perceptible toasty oak, and a fleshy softness that makes it immediately approachable. There is tightness and structure and firmness of tannin that softens with a little breathing yet remain in perfect balance. An excellent wine for the price.
